Mucho Corazón : Cultura, Arte y Conexión.

I’m Elisa Moreno, and these are the things I love about Mexico. I enjoy the special and authentic things in life — a good conversation, coffee, tacos, fresh bread, long walks, traveling, and staying active.

Through the products I share, I want to tell stories — stories that connect people with culture, tradition, and heart.

I was born in Uruapan, Michoacán, right in the heart of the city where all the traditional celebrations take place.

— like the Palm Sunday Artisan Market, the Night of the Dead festivals, and the neighborhood parades (which we call yuntas) that make up Uruapan’s rich culture. I grew up surrounded by all of it — the colors, the dances, the festivities, the traditions — and I loved being part of them too.

For some reason, I’ve always had friends and acquaintances involved in the arts: painters, sculptors, seamstresses, writers, photographers... many of them create the kind of art I absolutely love and wish the whole world could see.

Seven years ago, I moved to Raleigh, and that move only strengthened my desire to stay connected to my roots.

I’ve always loved clothing, jewelry, and accessories, and during a time of major change and readjustment in my life, I felt the need to do something meaningful — to start something of my own.

I had always worked for others, and it was then that I remembered everything I love about my country and felt the urge to share it. I started with jewelry because it was an easier product to bring and sell. I reached out to a friend whose work I admire, and that’s how I began selling her jewelry and designs.

Later, I connected with another artisan who runs her own jewelry workshop, and together we’ve been designing a new line that now carries my own creative touch. At a gathering, I met a woman who makes hand-carved and hand-painted wooden figures.

I instantly fell in love with her pieces and decided to bring them, too. They were a total success. Everything I offer has a story — stories of real women who work hard to pursue their dreams.
